Most Americans vitamin D deficient
A recent article by UPI talks about how a large percentage of the US population has insufficient Vitamin D levels. While the article doesn’t make a connection to depression we thought it was nevertheless worth sharing as research already made the connection between Vitamin D and depression. So if you are suffering from seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and don’t get enough sun exposure you might want to give Vitamin D supplementation a try.
“About 70 percent of the population of the United States has insufficient levels of vitamin D, a U.S. researcher says.
The report, published in Future Microbiology, says vitamin D insufficiency and deficiency is a worldwide public health problem in both developed and developing nations and nearly 1 billion people are deficient.”
